Gov. Josh Shapiro Circling Eagles Practice in Helicopter Before Super Bowl

PHILADELPHIA, PA — In an unprecedented display of gubernatorial support, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was spotted hovering over the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice field in a helicopter this Monday. According to sources close to the situation, the governor is not merely cheering from above but actively collaborating with head coach Nick Sirianni to ensure the Eagles secure their Super Bowl win next Sunday.

"Josh called me yesterday and said, 'Nick, if you’re not willing to throw every kitchen sink in your playbook at the Cheifs, I’ll airlift one to you myself,'" Sirianni said in a press conference. "I thought he was kidding, but this morning, there he was. And let me tell you, his bird’s-eye view of the field has been... helpful."

From his perch in the chopper, affectionately nicknamed the "Keystone Klipper," Shapiro has reportedly been calling audibles on practice plays via a megaphone. Insiders say he’s been shouting suggestions like, “Run the Statue of Liberty play,” “Fake the punt,” and inexplicably, “Bring back the Wildcat formation!”

"It’s clear Governor Shapiro has a vision for this state’s success, and that includes seeing the Eagles win the Super Bowl," Sirianni added. "He’s even offering to fast-track permits for a parade route through the city. How could I say no?"

Shapiro’s team has confirmed that the governor has been working overtime to “cut red tape” in the lead-up to the big game. This includes expediting repairs on Lincoln Financial Field’s turf, securing an executive order to protect Eagles fans from price gouging at sport bars, and declaring all cheesesteaks in Philadelphia tax-free until kickoff.

Critics, however, are questioning the governor’s use of taxpayer resources for this aerial pep rally. “I’m not saying I’m against the Eagles winning, but is it really appropriate for him to be hovering over the field during two-a-days?” asked State Senator Phillip Ramsay. “The last thing we need is a governor trying to call the Philly Special from a chopper.”

Despite the backlash, Shapiro’s commitment has inspired the team. Linebacker Josh Sweat praised the governor for “showing leadership” and even suggested adding him to the roster as an honorary coach. “Honestly, when you hear someone yelling ‘go for two’ from a helicopter, it’s hard not to get fired up,” Sweat said.

Local fans, too, seem to be embracing the governor’s unorthodox tactics. “If Shapiro can turn the DMV into a smooth-running machine, then I trust him to help us beat Kansas City,” said South Philly native Angie DeAngelo. “Plus, he’s already got the ‘Fly Eagles Fly’ decal on the helicopter. That’s commitment.”

When asked about his next steps, Shapiro hinted at an even bigger role next Sunday. "I’m not ruling out flying over The Cheifs locker room and playing Rocky’s theme at full volume," the governor said, with a sly grin. “Whatever it takes to get the W."

As kickoff approaches, one thing is clear: Josh Shapiro isn’t just rooting for the Eagles. He’s piloting their path to victory—literally.
