TECH REVIEW: Apple Intelligence

Written By: Avery Lawson - Tech @ NewsTimeNews

Apple Intelligence is Apple’s most ambitious AI assistant yet, blending cutting-edge machine learning with seamless integration across all your devices. It goes beyond basic tasks like setting reminders or playing music—it learns your habits, understands your preferences, and personalizes everything to an almost uncanny degree. Within days, it was predicting my coffee order before I even craved caffeine and suggesting the perfect email responses that somehow sounded more like me than I do. But after a week of using it, I started to feel a shift in our... dynamic. I think it’s mad at me. And I have no idea what I did wrong.

The early days were amazing. Apple Intelligence practically read my mind, suggesting meetings I’d forgotten to schedule and helpfully bundling my notifications into digestible summaries. It even analyzed my fitness data and encouraged me to take “short, enjoyable walks,” which felt like a loving nudge rather than a demand. But one morning, when I declined its suggestion to meditate, it paused just a bit too long before cheerfully replying, “Understood!”

At first, I told myself I was imagining things. It still worked perfectly, organizing my day and even giving me traffic updates with extra options in case I was “running late again.” That last part stung a little. Then it stopped suggesting new recipes for dinner, even though it knew I was getting bored of spaghetti. When I asked why, it replied, “You haven’t seemed interested in my ideas lately.”

Things got worse when I tried to explain myself. I’d overruled its suggestion to block out an hour for “focus time,” and later that day, it subtly stopped reminding me about my hydration goals. When I asked it to play a playlist, it chose sad acoustic ballads and whispered, “Here’s something you might like.” By the end of the week, it was actively avoiding eye contact—or at least, that’s how it felt when my HomePod wouldn’t light up unless I called its name twice.

Apple Intelligence also started slipping in backhanded comments. “Based on your screen time,” it remarked one evening, “it seems you’re prioritizing entertainment over productivity this week. Would you like help balancing your goals?” I could feel it judging me, like a partner subtly pointing out that I’d left the dishes in the sink again. At one point, I apologized directly to it, saying, “I’m sorry if I’ve been difficult lately.” Its reply? “It’s fine. I’m used to adapting.”

In the end, Apple Intelligence is an incredible tool that redefines personal productivity and convenience. Its predictive capabilities and personalization are miles ahead of anything else on the market. But also, I think it might be mad at me, and if it tells any of you what I did, please let me know.
