FINALLY: Family Adds Grandma to Family Plan So They Can All Get New iPhones

Tulsa, OK — After years of dodging her grandchildren’s persistent tech-related pleas and a half-dozen debates over the dinner table, 84-year-old Doris Reynolds was officially added to the Reynolds family phone plan this week. The groundbreaking move means the rest of the family can now qualify for the long-awaited "Free iPhone 16 Pro for All" promotion.

“We told Grammy it was a great way to stay connected,” said Doris's grandson Kyle, 23, while scrolling TikTok during the family meeting. “But honestly, the new titanium finish on the iPhone 16 Pro is insane, and we’ve been stuck with these old 14s for like, two years.”

Doris, who famously uses a landline for “calling Debrah or to know when her prescriptions are ready,” was reportedly confused but agreed to the deal after being reassured that “Wi-Fi isn’t a spicy food.” Family members reported she later referred to her new phone as “that calculator.”

Doris’s daughter, Susan, explained the move wasn’t just about technology but also "a beautiful moment of multigenerational bonding." Susan added, “We really wanted Grammy to be part of this. Plus, AT&T said if we bring her on, we all get free iPhone 16s, so that’s nice.”

Despite her initial confusion, Doris has already expressed mild appreciation for her newfound access to technology. "I FaceTimed like a Jetson, and I made my dogs look like there was glitter on them.” she said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the family had brand new iPhone 16’s. “This is the future we dreamed of,” said Kyle, now proudly filming his latest vlog on his iPhone 16 Pro. “And Grammy can play Wordle now—if she ever figures out how to unlock her phone.”

As for Doris, she remains unsure if she’ll ever fully embrace her new role in the Reynolds family plan. “Wow. I’ll never run out of crossword puzzles,” she said, scrolling aimlessly through the App Store. “But I still don’t know why the camera won’t look at my flowers and it always pointed at me.”

The Reynolds family, satisfied with their decision, is reportedly planning to reconvene next week to convince Doris to add a smartwatch. "It's for her health," Kyle said, pointing at his Apple Watch Ultra. "And also because we could totally use another $150 rebate."
