Talking Food, Sex & Travel With Lincoln, The Eagle That Swoops Into The Stadium Before Eagles Games

PHILADELPHIA Every Philadelphia Eagles home game begins the same way: a piercing scream, a rush of wind, and the majestic sight of Lincoln, the stadium’s resident bald eagle, soaring across the sky. But beyond the theatrics, who is Lincoln? What drives the most famous avian icon in football? We sat down with Lincoln for an exclusive interview to talk food, sex, and travel—three things he assures us are “pretty much what life is all about, man.”

"The Travel’s Great, But Have You Tried the Nachos?"

When asked about his game-day flight routine, Lincoln laughed—an abrasive caw. “People think it’s all about the spectacle,” he said, preening a feather. “But for me, it’s the nachos in the press box. The stuff they put out for you journalists? Incredible. There’s this queso—it’s liquid gold, baby. I get excited for that before every swoop.”

Lincoln revealed that the stadium staff tried switching him to kale chips one season to promote a “healthier snack culture,” but he protested by dive-bombing the vegan section until they relented. “I’m a predator. Let me live,” he said.

"Mate for Life? Pffft, Mating for Life."

On the subject of romance, Lincoln didn’t hold back. “Everyone assumes bald eagles mate for life, but that’s marketing spin,” he confessed, adjusting his talons. “My PR guy thought it would make me more relatable, but the truth is, I’ve got a girlfriend in every flyover state. You think I’m gonna hit 65 miles an hour in a nosedive just to impress one lady? Nah, I’m spreading these wings.”

He did, however, admit to a soft spot for a certain osprey named Janine. “She’s got this way of snatching a trout out of the water that just… whew. Makes my down feathers stand on end.”

"I’m in Philly for the Scene, Not the Skyline."

Lincoln has traveled extensively, but he says Philadelphia holds a special place in his heart. “I’m here for the energy. The fans, the booing—it’s intoxicating,” he said. “You ever seen a grown man dressed like a cheesesteak sobbing because his team missed a field goal? That’s art.”

Still, Lincoln admitted he sometimes longs for the quieter skies of Montana. “But then I remember: Montana doesn’t have Wawa,” he said, thoughtfully nibbling on a discarded hoagie wrapper he’d brought to the interview.

"Every Flight’s a Stage."

As we wrapped up, Lincoln shared what keeps him returning to the stadium week after week. “I love the game,” he said, gazing off. “Not football, per se. I don’t really get the rules, I’m not that smart. But the feeling of thousands of people looking up, in awe, thinking, ‘Wow, that bird an eagle like The Eagles.’ That’s why I do it.”

He paused, his keen eyes scanning the horizon. “And, you know, the nachos.”

Catch Lincoln at the next Eagles home game, where he’ll be gliding majestically and contemplating whether he can snag an unattended hot dog from Section 113.
