HOLLYWOOD, CA — In a move that has critics raising eyebrows and fans asking, “Why not?” Sony Pictures has announced Venom Does Las Vegas, a direct-to-streaming feature starring Tom Hardy as the eponymous alien symbiote. The film, described as a "bold reinvention of the superhero genre," will debut exclusively on an as-yet-unnamed streaming platform—likely one you’ve never heard of but will have to subscribe to for this one movie.
The plot reportedly follows Eddie Brock and Venom as they embark on an “unhinged buddy comedy adventure” in Sin City after Venom accidentally maxes out Eddie’s credit cards on online gaming skins. Desperate to pay off his debts, Eddie takes a job as a lounge singer in a second-rate casino, while Venom moonlights as a blackjack dealer with an alarmingly low tolerance for gamblers who "hit on 17."
Early reports suggest the film will feature groundbreaking special effects, such as Venom’s gooey appendages wielding martini glasses and flipping poker chips in slow motion. “It’s like Ocean’s Eleven, but with slime instead of elegance,” teased director Chad Fizzlebottom, best known for his work on the Sharknado franchise.
